IPhone vs Blackberry, Who will win the Social Media battle?

Social Media Marketing, Are Blackberry or IPhone doing their homeworks?

Within the so-called smartphones, we have 2 major competitors struggling to win the battle within social media. On the one hand, IPhone, and in the other corner, Blackberry.

It is not difficult to realize for those who have children, that the favorite trend in Spain for the youngest people, is to have an iPhone, and for those that already are working, the fight between Blackberry and Smartphone of “apple ” is more or less balanced.

A study by S. Radoff Associates was to know that on average, 21% of car buyers, was influenced by the Social Media.

In general, users of smartphones such as HTC, Blackberry or IPhone, tend to keep updated up with the possibilities offered by the terminal, so, the influence of Social Media in the purchase of the first terminal and the subsequent is more than relevant.

By analyzing the noise (buzz) generated by both, we can extract how often people refer to these two popular phones.

Research in Motion (Blackberry) took the bulk of the market, however, iPhone has been launched to stardom with an increase of 131.6% from one year to another.

The answer is simple; IPhone is investing more in marketing, including social media. What you get is a greater return on Advertising, and the costs associated with a good “community management”, are infinitely inferior to the regular press.

As reflection exercise, stop to think how much advertising you have found talking about IPhone (Apple specifically, not telcos offering iPhone as “gift”) in the traditional newspapers.

So what is RIM waiting for?
